Thank you so much, Marjorie, for taking the time and making the effort to
check this out and post it for us.
I'm anxious to compare this with what I have. Right off the bat, I see
that the birth year of 1750 which I have used for years, is incorrect.
Thanks again. God bless you!
Martha

Subject: [CALDWELL] DAR information on John Caldwell
Hello all,
This is the information on John Caldwell that has been proved for the DAR.
Twenty-nine people have joined on this line but for some reason NSDAR is
needing more information or different information on this John's service.
Born 1747 Lunenburg Co, Virginia
Death 11 Jun 1829 Columbia, Adair Co., Kentucky
Service Description: Va. line (this is what is being questioned as it
looks
as if this service has been proved for a Robert Caldwell, also. I'll do
some
checking on this.)
Residence: Charlotte Co., Virginia
Spouse: 1) Dicey Mann
2) Jean Neely Walker
Children: (These are the lines that have been proved, there maybe other
children)
William married (2) Ann Trabue
Samuel W. married (1) Betsey Caldwell
Isaac married (1) Elizabeth Robinson
Beverly married (1) Phoebe Hatcher
William married (1) Elia Pile
Polly married (1) Moses A. Scott
John Clayton married (1) Lena Hackett
David married (1) Lucy A. Cabiness
If there is any other Rev. Solider that you would like me to see if anyone
has join with their service, let me know, I can look it up for you.
My Caldwell line starts with my Great-Grandmother Emma Rowena Caldwell
Gatewood, she was known to many as "Grandma" Gatewood, the first woman to
hike the Appalachian Trail in one season at the age of 68 in 1955, (she
did
this more than once) her parents were Hugh Wilson and Esther Evelyn
Trowbridge Caldwell, William F. and Jane Sheets, Henry and Mary Ferrier
Caldwell, Hugh and Ruth Holstein Caldwell. All except Hugh and Ruth
Holstein
Caldwell lived at sometime in Gallia County, Ohio. Emma Caldwell
Gatewood's
parents moved from Ohio to California and are buried in Orange County,
California along with some of Emma's siblings.
If anyone is has any of these lines I would love to exchange information.
Marjorie
