I am interested in the youngest son Andrew - I have four Andrews in
my
line. The one I know the most about is Andrew Jackson Caldwell born in TN
or KY in abt 1775 died in KY 1848 Fayette Co. He was married to a Campbell
and Hardwick. His Father was an Andrew who married Margaret Sessions.
His Father Andrew married a Sevier I think.
Any of this ring a bell with anyone. Thanks, Flo in Texas

In reviewing my notes taken from Pauline Young's Abstracts of Old
Ninety-Six and Abbeville District Wills and Bonds, I notice that Mary
Black was listed in the probate records as a daughter of John Caldwell,
Sr., who died about November 1795. John's wife was Elizabeth, who died
about October 1816. Other children listed for John and Elizabeth are:
William (oldest son), John, Jr., David, James, Andrew (youngest son),
Ann Kolb, Isabella Pickens, and Jane (youngest daughter).
Joseph Black was executor of both John's and Elizabeth's wills, and John
B. Black was a witness for Elizabeth's will. Elizabeth's will mentions
a Joseph Hamilton in Georgia.
I hope some of this helps. I am trying to find the origins of my
Alexander Caldwell and his father John, who died in Abbeville in 1818.

The only information I have on Mary is that she was born about 1772 in
Abbeville SC and died 6 Jan 1826. I believe she may be the daughter of John
E. Caldwell, an immigrant from Co. Donegal, North Ireland. I've found some
records pertaining to John's family, but they make no mention of a daughter
named Mary. I'm hoping someone may have some thread of information to point
me in the right direction.
