Harmony Woman Dies Suddenly
Mrs. James Caldwell, 33, a lifelong resident of this vicinity, died suddenly at 7 a. m.
Tuesday at her home in the town of Harmony. Mr. Caldwell. Returning from the barn where he
had been attending' to the chores found his wife dead. Heart failure was given as the
cause of death.
Miss Leah Slawson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Slawson, this city, was born Aug. 6,
1887 in the town of Janesville She was married Sept. 28, l90? to James Caldwell of La
Prairie. Two sons were born to this union, Donald, 18, and Howard*, 7. Besides her
husband, and sons, Mrs. Caldwell is survived by her parents Mr. and Mrs. William Slawson,
this city; two sisters, Mrs. Henry Webb of Beloit and Mrs. Gaylord Davison of this city,
two brothers, Roy Slawson, this city, and Robert Slawson, Madison.
The funeral will be held at 9:00 a. m. Thursday, from the home, Father Francis J. Finnegan
officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery.

* Howard went by the first name James and lived in MD. Leah's mother Catherine Leah
Bradley wasfrom Sun Prairie, Dane, WI. The Webb's never had children. The Davisons
never had sons. Robert Slawson never had children. Roy Slawson had about 8 children who
lived to adulthood. One stayed near Janesville. The rest moved to CA.
