Thanks for responding Dave,
I am still trying to figure out why you mentioned the Boy Scout thing to me
though, interesting as it is. E-mail cannot replace the person to person to
talk even via the phone. I tend to lose track of where a conversation left
off, especially if I or the other person has not had time to get to their
mail, like now. I do like that you folks take the time to answer.
Genealogists are really a bunch of nice folks.
Later,
Elizabeth

Hi Liz... et al!
Best I can remember, & that's not too good, either, that jamboree was a
Boy
Scouts of America National Jamboree that took place in the
1950's. My
brother & I were both into scouting then when Dad asked me to go along,
but
I had something going on (that I can't recall) so he took my
brother.
From
there they ventured to New Jersey to visit some relatives Dad had
written
to/from & that's about all I know. Dad died late in 1999 so I can't ask
him
details, & Mom never took an interest in genealogy. Someday, I
hope to
have
available the time to dig deeper. Dad was one of the few volunteers
to
earn
the coveted Silver Beaver Award, & I have that around here
someplace...
among a whole lot of stuff I refused to let get destroyed after Dad's
passing. The city of Trenton comes to mind, but that may not mean
anything.
I don't know if any Caldwell, NJ residents are related to us, or
not.
Thanks for the chatter... yeah... I know all about that "1st thing to
go...
& I can't remember the 2nd..." ;-)
