This is a total guess but he could be a descendant of John Sipple Caldwell
(1811-1878) and his wife Rebecca Baker (1809-1886). Their family ended up in
New York and several of their children moved to Summit, New Jersey. The
names Samuel and James are family names and its possible the initial "B" is
for Baker and the initial "S" is for Sipple. I have the descendant line for
a couple of their children but not most of them. I hope this gives you a
lead! Feel free to contact me directly at ellen(a)bcpl.net .
