I have Weld as being born in May of 1851 and James Byrd as being born in
Oct. 1849. Carson I have born in August 1858. I know they were born in
Farmersville, NY but where they went after 1870 I don't know. Their
brother Henry owned the Farm I live on. Here is the info on them from
the 1860 and 1870 Census:
1860 Farmersville, NY, page 25
204-195 Caldwell, James--45--M-Farmer--land 3750--personal estate 1200
all in family born in NY
Polly (often used for Mary)--41 F
Loraine--16 F
Bird--11 M
Weld 9M
Mary 6 F
Henry 4 M
Carson 2 M
Ott, John--30 M--Farm Laborer
1870 Census--Farmersville--Sheet 13, Page 163
105-96 Caldwell, Jas.--54-M-W-Farm-6000-1650--NY
Polly 50-F-W-Keeping House
Bird-20-M-W-Farm
Weld-19-M-W
Mary-16-F-W
Henry-14-M-W
Carson-12-M-W
Again all members of the family indicated they were born in NY
I hope this helps in the search. I have no idea on how to search for
more on Loraine and Mary as they probably married. Any suggestions?

A Weld Caldwell, age 79, born in 1850, born in New York shows up on
the 1930
census in German, Montgomery County, Ohio. He appears to be living
with a
son named Herbert J and his wife Flo M (ages 39 and 38). If you need
more
info to find him let me know.
Would Byrd or Carson been born about 1857?. I came across one that
could
fit. I need to go back and check.
