A CALDWELL Family is often found associated with our GADBERRY Family. We
feel that there is a family connection somewhere. These are some, but not all,
instances of this association:
LAWS W. CALDWELL witnessed the wedding of NANCY GADBERRY and WEST BELK,
Lincoln County, NC 28 Oct 1822.
THOMAS CALDWELL'S dau JANE married CHARLES PALMORE 17 Oct 1785 in Cumberland
County, VA. The Surety was WILLIAM GADBERRY.
THOMAS B. CALDWELL marr JULIET YOUNG GADBERRY, after 1833, in Yazoo County, MS
ARL GADBERRY interceded between Yankee Troops and the GADBERRY Family in
Holmes County, MS., 1863 The Yankees were attempting to steal a large white
horse, described as the swiftest animal in the county. The horse was hidden in
the barn. The soldiers had been instructed to bring the fine animal to their
LT. At the least, Mr. CALDWELL talked the raiders into leaving the saddle.
We have other instances which imply kinship between the CALDWELL and the
GADBERRY Families.
Grateful for any scrap of information.
