Audrey:
Might I ask a question about this book? Our line of Caldwells were
originally from Ireland and during the Famine, went to Scotland to live.
Is there any information in that book about them originally being in Ireland
and if so, WHERE in Ireland? That is information we've been searching for
over 20 years now without trace. Hoping you can shed some light on this.

Subject: [CALDWELL-L] CALDWELL book
For the person(s) who want to know about a CALDWELL book, I can
suggest
the one I have. The author has documented very well, but I can tell you
now
she also tells the story that causes some folks to get riled up.
Is it a good book to have around? You bet! She gives wills, land
records,
letters, and whatever a researcher may need, including records from
publications like "The Old Free State". She is well educated, did a work
that covered many years of labor, read from many sources, etc.
I guess, like someone else, I would like to see how that story is
disproved.
The best, Audrey
