Martha,
Do you recall seeing a James P. CALDWELL who went from Maryland to
Christian County, KY in about 1819 in your book? He lived in or
around Hopkinsville, KY. He was born somewhere in Maryland in 1793.
There was another CALDWELL in Christian Co. KY also, I think before
James arrived, named Charles CALDWELL. They were both Masons, and I'm
trying to get info on this Charles to see if he is related to James.
James P. CALDWELL is my gg-grandfather. The name Charles never came
up in future generations, though, so it may be a coincidence they
were both there at the same time and were both Masons.
I'd like to find out something about James' parents (if anyone here
has any info on any Maryland CALDWELLs). His father was Dr. James
CALDWELL and he lived on the eastern shore of Maryland. His mother's
name is unknown, however, this was a Scots-Irish family and James'
middle name (what the 'P' stands for) was PECKHAM. I don't know if
that means anything or not... like maybe it was his mother's maiden
name?

Sorry, no. William was the only CALDWELL mentioned in this book.
Blessings!
Martha
