MANSFIELD: Michael Lamont Caldwell, age 49, passed away Wednesday, September 7th at Louis
Stokes Cleveland, Ohio VA Medical Center of an extended illness.
He was born to the union of Edward and Carolyn Caldwell in Mansfield, Ohio on September 9,
1961, and lived here most of his life.
He graduated from Mansfield Senior High, and served in the US Marine Corps.
Michael held many employment positions during his life, but he had an extreme passion for
children. He absolutely loved to referee all types of sports.
Michael was a member of Maddox Memorial COGIC. He was an avid reader. Michael also chose
to be an organ donor. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
Michael leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 30 years, Gloria Faye Caldwell of
Mansfield; two sons, Rodney Lamont (Charlene) Caldwell of Mansfield and Michael Edward
Caldwell of Montgomery, AL; one daughter, Shabrielle Bernice Caldwell of Mansfield; father
and mother, Edward and Carolyn Caldwell of Mansfield; two brothers, Kenneth Caldwell of
Yulee, FL and Delbert Caldwell of Columbus, Ohio; one sister, Valerie Caldwell of
Columbus; mother-in-law, Gloria Feagin of Mansfield; three sisters-in-law, Barbara (Sam)
Burgman, Florida, Jackie and Doris Feagin both of Mansfield; five grandchildren, Jynese,
Azaira, Jasmine, Rodney Jr., and Jahquese Caldwell, and a host of nieces, nephews,
cousins, other relatives and friends..
Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents, Celestine and Henry Shephard and Callie
Caldwell; niece, Shawntay Beard; uncle, Robert Caldwell; father-in-law, Sam B. Feagin;
brothers-in-law, Sam and Ervin Feagin; nephew, Keyshawn Brown.
The Caldwell Family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 from 10-11 a.m.
at Small's Funeral Services, 326 Park Ave. West, Mansfield, where Michael's life
celebration service will begin at 11 a.m. with Elder Ronald Jester officiating.
The committal will be conducted at the funeral home following the services. Friends may
visit at 944 Woodville Rd and 66 Orchard St or 34 Orchard St. until the day of the
services.
