(4) farmed from 1766-76 at White Ck, New Perth, now Salem, NYS, USA.
(5) raised 6 children? - William?, John, James, Andrew, Elizabeth & Robert.
(6) Robert fought & was captured at the Battle of Saratoga 1777 and then imprisoned
for 2 yrs for refusing to swear allegiance.
(7) lost their farm, cattle & farmhouse, as well as their negro farmhand at the Battle
of Saratoga.
(8) made their way to Canada and lived in an over-crowded refugee camp from 1779-83.
(9) Robert was declared a "Loyalist" for fighting in the War of Independence.

(13) were both buried at New Carlisle - Sarah(1822) & Robert(1825)
If my query is addressed, I will be able to continue my family search of "Retracing
My Australian Caldwell Descendants", from Australia, across to Canada, down to the
USA, now across to Northern Ireland and just maybe, just maybe ending in Scotland! You
see, Robert & Sarah's grandson Charles Campbell C. (b.1812, New Carlisle) was my
g/g/grandfather, who m. Margaret Jane Symington (b.1817, Co. Tyrone) in Sydney in 1842.
