From the author's original announcement, June, 1992:
------------------------------------------
This biographical genealogy tells the story of Joseph Caldwell who married
in Philadelphia in 1743, and migrated to Loudoun County in 1760. He and his
wife Mary Poak had at least five children, and the descendants of one son
and two daughters are carried down.
Most of the daughters' descendants remained in the Northern Virginia area,
but the prolific progeny of son Moses went to Kentucky, Missouri, Texas,
Alabama, Mississippi, and several other states, as well as Washington, D.C.
Among the allied lines the book includes are: Carr, Gray, McMakin, Maness,
Molett(e), Mullen, Paxson, Prowell, Skinner, Whitmore, Wright and Zimmerman.
This hard-cover volume of 123 pages has 35 profiles, ten early photographs,
a complete name index, and is fully annotated.
