Does the Caldwell family Bible list a Martha Caldwell's daughter's birth named Pearl Halcomb or Pearl Campbell by chance do you know ? Lorene
Dear Jean
I would like to say a BIG THANK YOU for sharing 'Strangers in the Box' with me. I personally feel the list manager who complained is a sad person and needs to get a life for herself!! Perhaps she is jealous!!!
I don't understand how you could have offended anyone. Thanks to you, I am now in the process of writing names etc. etc. on the backs of all my photographs past and present.
I have also forwarded 'Strangers in the Box' to all my contacts and printed a copy off to put into my family research file.
Keep up the excellent work. I very much enjoy reading all your posts.

New info indicates Ruby Caldwell Burton's father was a Jos. H. Caldwell who died 1 Jan 1928 in the Rucker area near Harrisburg, Boone Co., MO, aged 69 yrs. Burial was at Harrisburg. No mention yet of his wife/widow, but the obit indicates Ruby had two sisters, Mrs. Cora Cushman and Mrs. John Bagby of Milwaukee. An 1880 Boone Co census item has a 25 yr old Jos. H. Caldwell in Perche pct., a son of the widowed Louisa Caldwell (no maiden name given for her.) Both she and her deceased husband are shown b. KY. Jos. H. was b. in MO in l855, an acceptable variance from the age given in his obit. Am hoping to find more info, e.g., who was his wife, father, etc.
I say "amen, amen" to Martha's reply. Lorna

I have "several, several" people who have
thought that these were good ideas. Ideas that they had not thought about.
This posting has caused other people to share their ideas of what has worked

PS I do collect stories, poems, etc and have all my life on certain subjects. I do have a nice collection genealogy related if anyone is interested in a list you can contact me privately. mjfent(a)bellsouth.net. I feel that this "trivia" (as some call it) only adds to my family history gives me a better understanding.
Lorene: Do you have any locations or dates concerning these people?
Martha
Does anyone know anything about a Martha Caldwell that had a daughter named
Pearl Halcomb Caldwell ?? This is my mother and Grandmother . Martha married
a George Thomas Campbell wo went by Tom or Thomas . Any help i would
appreciate. Send reply to donaldandlorene(a)comcast.net. Thank you . Lorene
I received permission to post these ideas on family pictures.

Jane; What a perfect poem. When my Mother died, I found about 200 negatives
of pictures taken 1920's to 1950's. Had to find a photo studio that had the
equipment to develop these large negatives, some were 2 x 2 inches. I made
several booklet form copies and mailed out to any living relatives, they
would write the name, date etc. that they knew, mailed it back to me, then
I would let everyone know as many names as we all could figure out. What a
job!! Took months and money.
Sharon Wallis Klassen
AMEN to that, Jane Foley!
I have 'inherited' all my great-aunts papers, including pictures of our
family members that I'd never seen before. No names on anything!
Anne
How fortunate for you to have 'inherited' all this wonderful information and
pictures. A suggestion I would like to make is to take these pictures to a
Family Reunion (even if you have to organize one yourself), spread them out
on a table and have everyone look and try to help you identify the family
members.
Of course, this may not help unless you have some of the "older" generation
present but you won't know unless you try it. Invite people from the
community where the family grew up. Make sure you get the word out about
the "get-together" and ask anyone to come that is interested in that family
or
knows anything about the family. I wish you luck!
Margie
Thanks for this Jane;
I have been for some time trying to identify as many as I can from my
grandmothers old photo album (1875-1967) and my wife's mothers box of old
pictures (1902-1993)
I have been unable to find anyone still living who can identify more than
10% of the people. I know some of those who "old folks" in the more recent
photos have got to be some of the "youngins" in the older photos. My wife
and I have started going through all our old photos and putting name,
places, and dates as best we can. I am also scanning them all and putting
the info on each one on the CD. We are now 72 & 70 years old and have a lot
of pictures going back to our junior high school (or I guess they call it
"middle school" today)
Thanks again

Hi, I have recently started a website where people can donated the vital records they have so others can view, download and print them for FREE.
I have recently had an inquiry about this surname. So if anyone has any records they would/could donate please check out the website for details on how to do that.
The more people who donate what they have, the better the odds are of finding a record you need for FREE.

Am seeking info on parents, etc., of a Ruby Jo Caldwell (l898-l976) who was originally from the Sturgeon area in Boone Co, MO. She married Joe W. Burton, a longtime funeral director in Higbee, Randolph Co, MO, and they are buried in the city cemetery there. From conversations long ago I seem to recall that she had at least one sister and that there was a Joseph E. Caldwell in the family, either the father or a brother. I'd certainly appreciate hearing from anyone familiar with the Caldwell's of this vicinity, who they were, where they might be buried, etc.
