Hi,
I saw your posting and think your Sarah P Lusk is my gggrandmother that I have been searching for for many years. Sarah P Lusk married 1) Benjamin Compton Peery in Lewis County Sept 7, 1847..they are listed on Lewis Co., Census and had three children..Susan E. 1849, Mary E. abt 1850 and James Benjamin 4-1-1853, who was born seven months after his father died (Sept 19, 1852). I lost track of the family after that but Sarah probably moved back to Maury Co, where her family was. James later shows up in MS but I never could understand how or why. Sarah must have remarried to Samuel Slade Caldwell in 1855(I found their marriage just this past wk end). So there must be extended family. James left Ms and traveled to TX where he stayed with some of his mother's family(?) and finally settled in Limestone Co., TX. James was my ggrandfather.........I have more information if you think this is the same family.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi Mark,
I saw your response on the Caldwell message board about Hugh and Ruth Holstein Caldwell, Botetourt Co. Va. My husband's line comes through their son James b. 1790, then William Harvey b 1826 then Amanda b 1850 then Nina. b 1891. I have a good bit of information on William Harvey and Mariah Craft Caldwell. I am trying to link William to James then back to Hugh and Ruth. Do you have any information that would help me do this or know where I might find it? Also I am trying to find out about Amanda's husband who was Thomas Smith Caldwell b 12 Oct, 1832, d 12 jan, 1896. He and Amanda married 21, Feb, 1871. I have names, birth dates for Amanda, Thomas and their children from Amanda's bible. But no information on who his parents/siblings were or where they were from.
Would enjoy hearing from you and sharing information.

Looking for info about Paris Caldwell's father John and mother Sarah Mulligan. I know they were married in 1795 . John died in 1819. I am the great great grandson of Paris. Thanks, Jon
Dear Fellow Listers,
I am trying to trace the ancestry of William Henry Caldwell, born about 1857 in Ky.
He married a Charlotte Sarah Johnson (AKA Charlie )Who would have been born about
1876 in Ky. They had a number of Children, One of which was a Thomas Rhea Caldwel( my uncle ) who was born in Russelville, KY.IN 1903. Charlotte's father was a D.F. Johnson, born in Ky. about 1843. Know nothing about her mother.
The last known information that I have on William Henry and his wife ( Charlie ) is that at the time of the1920 census of Todd County, Ky. They were living in the Town of Allensville, with no other family members listed with them. William Henry , at that time was listed as being 62 years old, a butcher by trade and owned and operated his butcher shop. Until I can find information regarding his parents, I am somewhat unable to proceed in tracing his line back in time.
I have found a Caldwell Family On the 1880 Census of District # 3, Boyle Co. Ky.THat could well be William Henry's family ( the Logan Caldwell of that Place ) that lists a William Caldwell, single, age 24, with occupation a Deputy Sheriff. Agewise, this William and my William Henry fit well. Logan Caldwell, the father, is listed as being 53 years old, born in Ky witgh father born In Va. and mother born in Ky. He is a farmer, which fits the family profile of my William Henry.
I have also found another Caldwell Family, Living close to Logan on the same 1880 census. The head of the family is Robert Caldwell, age 55, born Ky. with father's
birthplace listed as Virginia and mother's listed as Ky. Robert Caldwell is listed as a Preacher . I suspect that Robert and Logan are brothers and both their lines could be traced to the Robert Caldwell , born in Virginia who married a Mary Logan. Descendants of that marriage eventually made their way to Ky and other areas. If I am correct, in this assumption. it would be a direct link to John Caldwell. the founder of the Caldwell Settlement, of Lunenburg County, Virginia.
Would appreciate any comments, help or advice others would give me on this subject matter.
Kenneth L. McIntyre, Victorville, CA.

Looking for any connection to or info on William Augustus CALDWELL, b. abt.
1862, Stewart Co, TN, son of GW CALDWELL and M. A. NELSON. He lived in
Pope Co., IL, around New Liberty, and married Emma R. GOLDEN in 1886. They
had children, one of which was my grandmother, Bessie CALDWELL OWENS, b.
1889, New Liberty, IL.
My last accounting of him was in the 1910 U.S. census, where he was living
with his children, George H., Claude, Bessie and Effie. Another daughter,
Lula B. was already married and living away from home. Wife Emma deceased
about 1898.
I would love to locate William's brothers and/or sisters ancestors.

HI all Caldwell Listers:
TRying to gain information on the Caldwell line of my family history. Just
really getting started and already hit a brick wall in respect to subject
relative. Hping to connect with someone that may help me. Here is what I
know about William Henry Caldwell.
He was listed on the 1900 & 1910 census of Logan County, Ky .He was born
abt.1857 in KY. His mother and father were also born in Ky. William Henry
listed as being born in Ky was listed as 52 years old on the 1910
census.with occupation of a farmer.
His wife, Charlotte Sarah Johnson (aka: Charlie ) was Listed as being born
In Ky,as were her parents. She was 3 years old at the time of the 1910
census, birth year abt.1876.Her father was D. F. Johnson, age 67 and living
in the Caldwell household.
Their Children were :
Daughter Rebecca, age 12, born KY.(1898)
Daughter Willie, age 9, born Ky.(1901)
Son Thomas Rhea, age 7, born Ky (1903 )
By the time of the 1920 Census KY. William H. Caldwell and his wife
(Charlie ) were living at Allensville,. Todd County. He listed his ageat 62,
.His Occupation as a butcher and owned his own meat market. His wife,
Charlie, listed her age as 44 years. No other family members were listed
with them.
In trying to locate the family of my William Henry Caldwell, I did find a
Family of A Logan Caldwell. on the 1880 Census of District # 3, Boyle, Co.
Ky. that listed a William Caldwell as a family member. No middle initial or
name was given.he was listed as 24 years old, born in Ky,with occupation of a
Deputy Sheriff. His father, Logan Caldwell, ( born Abt.1827 ) indicated that
his father was born in Virginia, and that his motherwas born in Ky. Besides
William they had the following children : Ellen,Namie, Ella, Mariah, Obediah
and Lucy.
The William Caldwell listed above would of been born abt. 1856, which
closely matches my sought
William Henry birth year. His father, Logan was a farmer, which fits into my
William Henry life also,so, there is a possible fit here.
Living very close to Logan Caldwell,(Same District, Same County) is a Robert
Caldwell, A preacher, age 55, born in Ky, ( abt. 1825 ) His father was born
In Va. his mother born in Ky. His wife, Lucy Caldwell listed her age as 51
years old ( born abt. 1829 ) in Ky. TGHey had the following children :,
Amelia,Ella, Logan W., JOseph W., Gabrial, Robert, Charles, Maggie and
Lizzie.
At this point in time,I am assuming that thisa Robert and Logan are
brothers, and that they stem from the Marriage of Robert Caldwell and Mary
Logan, who married in Virginia, then eventually relocated to Ky.My
understanding is that This Robert Caldwell, son of John Caldwell ( b. 1682,
Scotland, d. 1750, Virginia and founder of the Cub Creeck Caldwell
Settlement in Va. ) and Margaret Phillips b. 1690,d.1746 )
I am hoping that this message may result in contacts with other Caldwell
surname researchersand that we can share information. WElcome any comments,
suggestions or whatever.
My connection is that the Thomas Rhea Caldwell, Son of William Henry,
eventually married my mothers sister, Stephanie Grace Langer. My mother,
Bertha Marie Langer married my father, Leo Thomas McIntyre. Bertha died very
young, leaving my father with three small children myself age 3, and two
sisters, age 5 and 7. THe Caldwells, for a time help my father in taking
care of us.
Sorry that this is rather long, but it may help others and of course I do
hope it helps my search for my Caldwell roots.
