David,
I`m having a hard time connecting
my Caldwels to anyones line. All I
can tell you is that the ones I have on census records were born in TN from mid 1840s to late 1850s. It`s a good old Irish name too.
I`ll keep on searching.....
Delbert
This is not my main line of Caldwells but they branch into it--here's
all I have
Thomas born about 1590 maybe Ireland but could still be in
Scotland--don't know wife
at least one child George born about 1615 --no name for wife
at least one child Margaret abt 1645 in Muckamore--she marries George
Turner born 1640--most of their children die in Virginia but not sure if
they go --one of them George marries a Janice ? and one of their
children Hannah born about 1708 marries John Wrenn of Lancaster,
Virginia--eventully we get to James Wrenn abt 1777 and his daughter
Martha Jane who marries Samuel Gattis(changed from Geddes)--one of their
great grandaughters marries back into the Caldwell line.

I would like to find out who this Edward CALDWELL is related to. Who are
his parents, and his brothers and sisters? Matilda was Matilda ERWIN before
her marriage to Edward in 1868 in Pope Co.
In 1888 there is a Joseph L. CALDWELL who married Elizabeth (CRANK) HARMON.
Are these CALDWELL's related?
My great grandfather, Wm. A. CALDWELL was married in 1886 to Emma R. GOLDEN,
and I would like to find out if he is related to the other CALDWELL's there
at that time.
Thanks for any help.

Searching for information on JOSEPH CALDWELL DOB 1657 Lifford Parish,
Ballycogan County, Donegal Ireland. Married Jane McGhie 1682.
Hopefully someone has more information on this family. What did Joseph do
for occupation?
Did he participate in any Historical events in Ireland? What economical
status were they?
They had one child ANDREW who came to America in 1718 (can anyone verify this
for me, such as name of ship?) who was his spouse?
I show two children that others do not: a David or Daniel and a Mary...no
dates of birth so not even sure they belong with this family.
Any help will be appreciated.

My Caldwell search begins with JOHN CALDWELL DOB 1630 Ballycogan County,
Conleigh Parish, Donegal Ireland. Married (1) Margaret Porter (2) Mary
Holmes.
Has anyone done enough research to know anything about this family at all?
What did John do for occupation? Did he participate in any of the Historical
events in Ireland? What economical status would this family have been?
I need the names of children, their Dates of birth and hopefully the spouses
they married! Since we are talking about research in Ireland I imagine it
will be quite a task to learn more about them. But maybe someone is way
ahead of me and can shed some light on this family or sources to check for
information.
ANY HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED.

Searching for information on a SAMUEL BENJAMIN FRANKLIN CALDWELL DOB 1804 to
parents Samuel Caldwell and Anne Balch. He married Harriet_______? In 1843 he
helped establish SHILOH, CUMBERLAD PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH 6 miles south of La
Plata.
I need the last name of his wife, and names and DOBs of any children. Also,
any PERSONAL information about the family. I assume he was too old for the
Civil War (age 56) but maybe not.
Also, being a minister might have exempted him.
He may have lived in Cairo, Macon County, Missouri as that is where he is
supposed to be buried. I have no source for this information..so if someone
could even provide that it would be a help!
Thanks,
Barbara Randolph

I forgot to add that there is one story that says Dr. Robert Phillips Balch
Caldwell fought a duel with another Caldwell..and he was a doctor also!
This man's name was Dr. Daniel Caldwell. I hope someone can verify this
story!
Dr. Robt. P.B. Caldwell
DOB 1796
Parents: Samuel Caldwell/ Anne Balch
Lived: Logan County, KY and possibly Pleasant Hill, Cass County, Missouri
Died: 1880
Married: (1) Lucinda Penn (2) Elizabeth Jameson Simpson
Thanks,

Searching for information on ROBERT PHILLIPS BALCH CALDWELL DOB 1796 to
parents Samuel Caldwell and Ann Balch. He was a Physician by occupation. He
married (1) Lucinda Penn (2) Elizabeth Jameson Simpson. The marriage to
Elizabeth took place in 1825 in Montgomery County, KY. His wife's father was
Col. William
Simpson. I show him as possibly buried in Pleasant Hill, Cass County
Missouri (?)
Hopefully someone will know something of this family. The names and dates of
birth for children and perhaps any PERSONAL information on them. I think he
was too old to have served in the Civil War...but as a doctor, he may have
been pressed into service despite his age. That is conjecture on my part!
Thanks,
Barbara Randolph

I have 3 Wm. Caldwells in a1900
census of Marion Co. TN. One is my line & the other 2 I don`t know
about. Wm. b. Oct. 1844 & wife Sarah (from IL) b. 1854 has first son John born in IL. in 1876. Any of this help?
Go to http://www.RootsWeb.com On the left hand side towards bottom you will
see Mail Listing. Click on Index; then surname C, then Caldwell. Towards
the bottom of the site is Search List. Click on it and then click on 2001.
In Search box type in Stogner. You will then get the links to the pages you
want.
Did you look at the Caldwell Mailing List Archives for 2001, File #334, etc.
for Anabel Wilson Stogner's "My Caldwell, Richey, Wilson Ancestors?"

I need information on JAMES CALDWELL DOB 1739/1759. Whew, another
discrepancy on dob to try and track down! Anyone who knows?
He is shown as born in Lunenburg, VA. Is this true? He is shown in some
cases as married to MARY FORREST...in other cases as ELIZABETH FORREST.
Which is true? Or is it a case of Mary Elizabeth Forrest? I show a marriage
date of 1783.
They may have moved to NEWBERRY DISTRICT, SOUTH CAROLINA. Does anyone know
if this is correct? If so, when? Anyone with any land deeds or warrants to
prove this?
I also need the names of their children and their DOBs if possible. ANY
OTHER INFORMATION WOULD BE HELPFUL. What did James do for a living?
Military service? Church affiliation? Any personal information on this
family to give them a more fleshed out group?
Thanks,
Barbara Randolph

Margaret Caldwell DOB 1725/1734...can anyone clear up the discrepancy on the
DOB?
She is daughter of WM. CALDWELL / REBECCA PARKS. Probably born in Lancaster,
Pennsylvania.
Can anyone give me a source which would prove that?
I show she married EITHER James or John Ritchie in 1749. Any one who can
clear up whether it was James or John or possibly a double name of James
John? They may have lived in Greenwood, South Carolina. I do not have dates
for that or even proof that they did.
She may have died in 1802? Where buried? What did her husband RITCHIE do
for a living?
Did he serve in American Revolution?
As usual, ANY INFORMATION WILL BE HELPFUL!
