Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
I promised I would work from the Caldwell Courier and these are some of the
notes, families not necessarily related. Have a large stack and just began
yesterday. Audrey

Surname: Caldwell, Ball, Dively, Peacock
-------------------------
Jeannine: Finding one's ancestors is certainly challenging. It's been suggested
to me that the Ball name may have been spelled Bahl. I take it none of
my relatives are in your line, even in the Nall name. One never knows!
Posting queries on different sites has been very helpful for me, so go
ahead and interact with more people! Good luck.
I have been unable to find any census records on the internet
for oklahoma in the 1920's. I'm also not sure what county Sam
and Lucy were born in.I would appreciate any helpful links to
censuses.
Thanks. Stacey.

Stacey,
This is late for CALDWELL records. The PERRY family migrated from SC to AL
with the POOLS. PERRY also intermarried with POOLS and RHODES that migrated
from SC.
Can you read census and pick up your CALDWELL line before Sam's birth? You
prob. know you can pick up all of a family back to 1850; before that only
head-of-household, but with dates for male and female living in the homes.

Sam Caldwell, b. 1897 in texas m. Lucy Perry.
Lucy was also born in texas in 1899.
They had two sons, Sonny and Wyley Belton Caldwell.
They did not die in texas, they were born there.
The info I have was obtained from a birth certificate of their son(Wyley).
The birth certificate states that in 1921 Sam was 24 and Lucy was 22 at the time of the birth.
Some time after this birth, sam and lucy either divorced or was seperated.
I do not know where or when they died.
I do know that they moved to stilwell, Oklahoma.
That is where my grand-father(Wyley) was born.
Wyley Belton Caldwell b. February 20, 1921 m. Ruby Ruth Taylor b. May 19, 1921.
I am looking for any info on this. Please help.

Hi Janet,
This is my first ever participation in mailing list interaction. Having
read many Caldwell postings, I repeatedly have the same question. In many
of the pages and postings I see a name such as "Ball" and in my Caldwell
line we have "Nall" sometimes spelled Knoll. My mother is living and is
my source for this information. I often wonder if there has been a typo.
Perhaps this is why my progress is slow, I question EVERYTHING. I hope
I have not created more confusion. Jeannine
For what it's worth, -My grand-daughter, Abigail Tuttle, a senior at American University in DC,was a volunteer on some clean-up detail there. While there she observed a marker, with the following inscriptions:
ELIAS BOUDINOT CALDELL 1776-1825
ELIZABETH BOYD CALDWELL 1784-1818
JAMES CALDWELL 1834
ELIZABETH CALDWELL GIBBS 1831-1864
MARGARET R. SAMMONS 1940
Does anyone know where they fit? I would like to know
Thanks Bill Tuttle

This is a correction to the previous information. Effie Caldwell had a
sister, Lula Belle Caldwell, b. 1891, in New Liberty, IL, who married a
Frank Vedder in 1921. They lived many years around Murrayville, IL, Morgan
Co.
Effie Caldwell worked at the Jacksonville State Hospital and contracted
TB. She died in early adulthood.
Any info on either of these sisters would be appreciated.
They were daughters of William Augustus CALDWELL of Pope Co., IL.
While in Nicholas and Bath Co's KY I took notes on several Caldwell names and
will send them on to the list in hopes someone out there can use them.
Marriage records from Bourbon Co., KY 1786-1800
