First off, thanks for the response, Diane. I will follow-up on your
suggestion.
Additional information obtained from my father's notes...
William Raymond Caldwell b. Oct. 31, 1893 in Kokomo, IN. It seems he
didn't like his birth name sequence so sometime before serving in the
Spanish American War he became Raymond William Caldwell. Don't know if this
was a legal change or not.
His father was Albert Alan Caldwell, no other information is known at this
time.
His mother is unknown at this time.
I made a spelling error in my earlier inquiry re: William's (or Raymond's ?)
wife's middle name... should be Karen Lillian Larsen. Marriage date
unknown.
A comment from Calvin Caldwell to Carol Caldwell makes reference to our
lineage coming from Scotland & may have been Colwell at some point. I have
no verification of this info., yet.
The tree looks like this now...
1. Albert Alan Caldwell
A. Lester ___ Caldwell
B. Eva L. Caldwell
C. William Raymond Caldwell
D. Leroy ___ Caldwell
E. Rosella ___ Caldwell
F. Hazel ___ Caldwell
G. Calvin ___ Caldwell
Hope this additional new info. sparks more info. & maybe some more ties.
Thank you for allowing me to participate. Dave

The Augusta County GenWeb site has a map showing all of the original patent
holders.
Judy,
I have a Joseph Caldwell who married Catherine Grove in Decatur Co., IN in
1840. Any connection? Have not found him after that yet.

Hi:
The Joseph Caldwell who lived in Lawrence county, Ind per 1840 and 1850
census was born in NC about 1798.
His wife Sarah born about 1793 in NC. Per 1850 census children at home
were:
Wm born about 1825 IND
Nathan born abt 1829 IND
Martha born abt 1831 IND
Mary J born abt 1833 IND
Sally A born abt 1835 IND
Julia A born abt 1837 IND
Samuel Johnson born abt 1842 IND (not sure this is a child with Johnson
as middle name or someone living there with last name of Johnson)
I'm interested in their daughter Sarah A or Sally A born about 1835. She
married Noah McLaughlin in Lawrence County, Ind and they moved to Kansas
by 1870 and died in Wichita Ks.
Thanks,
Judy (in Ks)
