I'm searching for word of BENJAMIN FRANCIS CALDWELL s of John H. and
Rosanna CALDWELL, b c1837 IN, m 23 Aug 1855 to Lucinda LIMING in Hancock Co
IN. His later life is a mystery.
Benjamin went to the California gold fields in 1859 and was divorced in
absentia by Lucinda 6 Jan 1869. What happened to him after that is unknown.
Did he remarry? Where? None of the family, including the two daughters of
Ben and Lucinda, ever found out. Rumors were that he went to Kentucky, to
Ohio, Missouri, back to California, and so forth, but no facts are known.
My name is Diane Marie (Caldwell) McCoy. This is my first attempt to
try to find out anything about my family history. My fathers name is
Ralph Harrison Caldwell Sr. and my mothers is Geraldine Lucille (Hicks)
Caldwell. They both are from PA. I'm not exactly sure how to go about
this so if anyone has any information on this part of the Caldwells to
get me started it would be appreciated.
Thanks so much,
The following message was received Saturday night from a friend in Grand
Rapids, MN. This opens a new avenue help pinpoint my Mary Susan Caldwell.
Look familiar to anyone?

A strange meeting took place in Grand Rapids last week. H. S. Huson met an
old Ohio acquaintance, T. Bailey, an employee of the Duluth & Winnipeg
road. They got to talking about old times in the Buckeye state and MR.
Huson invited Mr. Bailey to his home. After an introduction to Mrs. Huson,
it did not take many minutes to discover they were cousins, and had not met
since 1860, when Mr. Baily enlisted in the army, and was supposed to have
been killed.
[Bailey is spelt both ways in the article.]

Hi everyone,
I am researching Caldwells in Scotland. Ayrshire to be exact. Traced
my lineage to Robert Fulton and Jean Caldwell married in Beith, Ayrshire
June 2, 1802. Jean Caldwell's parents were John Caldwell and Janet
Thomson. Any information or enquiries would be favourably received.
Cheers,

YOU KNOW YOU'RE TAKING GENEALOGY TOO SERIOUSLY IF ..
In order to put the "final touches" on your genealogical
research, you've asked all of your closest relatives to provide
DNA samples.
You are the only person to show up at the cemetery research party
with a shovel.
You were instrumental in having "non-genealogical use of the
genealogy room copy machine" classified as a federal hate crime.
You decided to take a two-week break from genealogy, and the U.S.
Postal Service immediately laid off 1,500 employees.
A genie appears and agrees to grant you one wish, and you ask
that the 1890 federal census be restored.

Katherine,
I sent you an e-mail regarding John Cauldwell, but it was returned to me
saying that the e-mail address was unknown. I sent it to
katherinehd(a)hotmail.com.
Let me know if there is some way I can get in touch with you.

Dear list
I have just resubscribed to the Caldwell list after a break of about 6
months. Last time I did not get anything helpful from the list because I
didn't know what I was looking for. Now I know.
Peter CALDWELL married Elizabeth MUIR on the 5 June 1863. His parents were
Robert CALDWELL and Agnes BAXTER. However on Scots Origins I can not find
any Marriage of Robert and Agnes, nor can I find any children born to them.
Does anyone have anything on this family?
Thanks in advance.
Regards, Patricia Taggart (Trisha)

What is as bad is the people who will not change faulty information
even though they have been given irrefutable proof that the lineage
