Patti,
Thank you so much. I did not know this. Has anyone been successful in tracing further
back than Andrew to Scotland?
Thanx Again,
Robert Edward Caldwell

A Biography of Rev. David Caldwell (1725-1824) A Light in the
Wilderness,
available online, dispels the legend that his ancestors settled in Cub Creek,
Virginia. His father Andrew Caldwell, 1812-1857, migrated from Renfrewshire,
Scotland, and settled on the frontier of colonial Pennsylvania at Drumore
Township, Lancaster County, about 1825. He has been confused with another Andrew
Caldwell, 1792-1852, who emigrated from Lifford Parish, North Ireland., settled In
Pequa, Lancaster County, and is grandfather of John Caldwell Calhoun.
Historian Ethel Stephens Arnett was the first to publicize a comparison of the wills
of the two Andrew Caldwells, to show who was the father of Rev. David Caldwell.
