Realized that I had never updated this thread. The Lt. James Calderwood (6th Pennsylvania
Regiment) and the Capt. James Calderwood (from Col. Daniel Morgan's 11th and 15th
Virginia Regiment) are one and the same. died at Battle of Brandywine 1777. I found the
muster rolls, the written account of his marriage to Rachel Sprigue, and then after his
death, her marriage to David Watson, and also a handwritten account from when his sister
and brothers came to get his war-wages.
---
he had no children (per the hand-written account when his sister and brothers came to get
his war-wages), so he can't be father to our James Calderwood (married to Catharine
MacDonald).
---
The search for who James Calderwood (1760-1834)'s father was, is still going on.
