and Margaret Simpson Robertson.

Profession: - Factory overseer (bachelor) on his Marriage Registration.

Place of Residence: - 22 Murraygate, Dundee on his Marriage Registration.
Immigration Record:
"In about Sep 1887 Margaret (Moon) Calder left her four youngest children Jessie,
Robert, David and May with her sister Jane (Moon) Scott and traveled to the USA. Her
intention was to get settled and then send for her children. Before she could do this,
Jane and her husband David Scott, unable to care for them, sent them to the Quarriers
poorhouse/orphanage. On 29 Mar 1888, Robert and David were sent to Canada as home children
on the SS
Carthaginian. They left from Glasgow and they arrived in Halifax on 8 Apr 1888. From
there they went to a Quarriers affiliated children's home in Brockville, Ontario.
Jessie and May left Scotland on 9 May 1890. They sailed on the SS Siberian from Glasgow
arriving in Quebec on 22 May 1890. They also went to Brockville. Quarriers were very
helpful and sent copies of the accounts of the voyages from their annual reports for 1888
and 1890. Margaret's three older children, Margaret, Edward and Penuel eventually
joined their mother in Brooklyn."
