Can anyone help provide more info on my colourful relative, Charlie Calder , a Baptist
preacher in Liverpool in the 1940/1950's?
I am keen to find out:
1. where was Charlie's church?
2. does anyone remember him?
3. where would he be buried

Charles Henry Calder Born 2 Oct 1882
93 Beacon Lane, Everton
occupation: house painter
1st wife Eliza (Liza) Emma Jones
married Sat 24 June 1905
St Luke the Evangelist church, Walton
Both lived in Index St, Walton.
Child - John (I'm in touch with his descendants)
Charlie was jailed for bigamy in the 1930's? - living or in prison in Manchester?
2nd wife Daisey
2 daughters , Daisey and A.C.E. (Annie)
A C E (Annie) Calder married Thomas McCarthy in 1938 Dovecot, Holy Spirit, Liverpool.
She lived at 592 East Prescot Rd Huyton , married with a son. Annie is now decd I believe.
Charlie was a scoundrel: a Pastor Jeffreys visited Charlie's church. Charlie hired a
wheelchair for Daisey who had nothing wrong with her legs. Jeffreys "healed"
her. Was this Pastor Edward Jeffreys 1899-1974 who began preaching in a tent?
My Mum remembers visiting Charles' Baptist? ministry in Liverpool about 1950 (NB. he
was age 68 in 1950) .
He attended my parents wedding wearing a red wig!

Charlie died age 85 on Xmas Day 25 Dec 1967. 653 East Prescot Rd Liverpool 14.
