Looking for a Dr. William CALDER/COLDER of Kentucky who was part of the
Peter's Colony. In Feb. of 1843 Dr. CALDER, while traveling from Cedar
Springs (Dallas), Dallas Co., TX to Ft. English (Bonham), Fannin Co., TX
was killed by Indians in Colin Co., TX and was buried there. Martha DANFORTH,
his wife may have been in Texas sometime in 1841/42 or she might have been in Ark.,
or the Indian Territory waiting to join her husband. Looking for more information
on William & Martha CALDER and their only child, a boy. All we have of this couple
is a probate record of Dallas county naming Marthas second husband, Elisha S. WYMAN,
as the administrator. The son is listed as W.L.C. WYMAN in the 1850 census,
assumption is that the C. stands for CALDER/COLDER.
A book regarding Peter's Colony states that Wm. CALDER is from Kentucky.
Anything would be wonderful regarding this family.
Thank you
Gayle
