The following may interest someone:
"At his residence, Baby's Point, River St. Clair, on the 3rd ult., Capt. Hugh
Calder, late Collector of Customs there, aged 87 years. He was a native of Scotland, but
emigranted many years ago, and was long known as a commander of vessels on the St.
Lawrence [River]. During the Rebellion of 1837-38, he had command of a marine force under
Col. Pennefather and did good service. He leaves a widow, who now lives in
Wallaceburg."

Essex County, Ontario, Canada. Both River St. Clair and Wallaceburg are in Ontario,
