Subject: Calder, Campbell from SCT & CAN
William CALDER and Jane VALENTINE had a child, Alexander, born
October
1849 in Chapel of Garioch, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. William apparently
left
Jane and Alexander in Scotland and he went to Canada about 1850-51.
William Lamb(e) CALDER and Joanna CAMPBELL were married in 1853 in London,
Ontario,
Canada, and they had 10 children. He was first a grocer and then
the keeper of the Barton Reservoir in Hamilton.
Three descendants of these marriages had DNA testing done a few years ago
showing
identical results. It is therefore assumed that the two Williams
were the same.
The ancestors were John CALDER and Jean McKENZIE who were married March 6,
1804 in
Cuminestown, Monquihitter, Scotland. His parents were John CALDER
and Jane CORMACK each of whom died about 1831-32 in Scotland.
Are there any other descendants of these on this Rootsweb list?
