Hello, I, too have been trying to trace my Cairns ancestry without any luck. This list
does not get too many hits, so I thought I'd just let you know that there are some of
us still hoping to hear anything. (Regret no info on your John Cairns as my came from N.
Ireland to Ontario. Any idea who John's parents were? If so you might try the UK
1881 Census available free at
familysearch.org. Other UK census's are available at
other sites but for a fee.) Happy: 1. Hunting 2. Holidays! -Jeff Airth (in California)
