Hello Dick.
The family appears in the English census records for 1881, 1891 and 1901, in
Birkenhead at Chesire, although all the sons appear to have been born in
Liverpool, so presumably the family was living in Liverpool in 1871,
although I can't see them anywhere in that census. I will send you the
information by separate email.
Regards,
Rosemary
I'm looking for the CAIRNS family believed to be of Warrenpoint,
Co Down?
All I know is as follows:
Margaret Jane CAIRNS was b abt 1848 in Warrenpoint, the daughter of
William CAIRNS, a shoemaker. She married John William NUGENT on 23 Dec 1866
in Liverpool, England, and lived there afterwards. Witnesses at the wedding
were James CAIRNS and Elizabeth CAIRNS.
There are no firm 'sightings' of them in the England censuses, apart from
Margaret after her marriage, which suggests the family lived in Ireland.
