Let me make the last 2 messages a little less confusing. I found William and Eliza with
their 2 children, Charles and Emmett.
Also living with them as Eliza's mother, Fanny; as well as Fanny's Mother, Eliza.
I Looked for more information on Eliza(the Grandmother)and Fanny(the Mother).
I found them in the 1850 census in Indiana. I looked further and found them in the 1840
census, but the 1840 census only lists the name of the head of household. So by the 1840
census the father (Richard Colegate Talbott) was no longer around. I don't know what
became of him. I cannot seem to find anything.
In the 1860 census I found Eliza Talbott in a Kentucky Insane Asylum (yes, really!)...she
is listed as insane, obviously the place did a good job of helping her regain some sanity,
because she was with her Daughter and GrandDaughter in the 1880 census. That is all I have
found for now.
I hope this helps. If you find out more information, put it here so I can find more info
for you.
I posted the thing about Robert Cairns because I think that MIGHT be your immigrant. If
you are in the area your ancestors were, then you should go to the library and start
looking for old newspapers. If not, then you might try to find a mormon church in your
area and see if they have a family history library. They will teach you what you need to
know.
Good Luck!
