Hi Connie: I am sorry, but I have no James Thomas in my family as far back
as 1712. Sorry I can not be of any help. Hope your luck changes. Best wishes

I am replying to your message on the off chance that you know some
connection. My James Thomas Cairns was born on March 18, 1827 in
Perthshire, Scotland. He married Mary Young around 1848 and came alone to
the US around 1849. Mary and her parents followed about 1851 or so.
James
and Mary's children were named James, John, and Francis (which is
a common
name in their family). I can not trace anything farther and have no
parents
or siblings for James Thomas. I've often wondered if some
memeber of the
family night have gone to Australia or New Zealand, where there seem to be
lots of the Cairns family. Connie Bainbridge Lbainbridge(a)cox.net
