Hi, Marge Glenn,
I've researched, one of my brick walls, my 3xg grandfather, James Cairns who was born
about 1785 in the parish of Clogher, County Tyrone, N. Ireland. They were definitely of
Scotch descent - about 1 or 2 generations removed, but unknown where. He and family
migrated to Ontario in the 1840's. Rumor is that much of the records of this area
were lost in the burning of the Dublin riots in the 1920s.
I would sure love to locate any others of this line - might give some clues. Thanks so
much and regards,
Jeff

Jeff, what Cairns are you looking at in N. Ireland and where?
I have a John Elliott who had a son William who married Matilda Skelton in
the early 1800's.

Hello, Amy,
Regret no connections - unless Peter or Mary might be descended from
Cairns in N. Ireland. Kind Regards,
Jeff

I=E2=82=AC=E2=84=A2m seeking any information about Peter QUIGLEY, born
about 1820 in Galway, Ireland. He was married to Mary CAIRNS (born about
1823) of Galway. Their daughter Bridget was born around 1841 and their son
Martin around 1843 in Galway. By 1850, they were living in Wolverhampton,
Staffordshire, England. Their children born there include Michael (abt.
1850), John (abt. 1855), James (abt. 1857), Thomas (my
great-great-grandfather, (Feb 1852), and Owen Joseph (abt. 1860). Thomas
and his wife Mary O=E2=82=AC=E2=84=A2Shaughnessy emigrated to the U.S.,
and I am in contact with several other researchers among their
descendants, but I would love to make contact with people descended from
Thomas=E2=82=AC=E2=84=A2s siblings.
