Lost Cousins is a wonderful website that allows you to enter information about your
ancestors in the 1881 English, Welsh and Scottish censuses, and then lets you know almost
instantly about "lost cousins" who are also related to those ancestors. I
suspect that, like me, this list includes people like me whose ancestors came from
Scotland or England.
This weekend, Lost Cousins is having a free weekend Friday Oct. 6 to Monday Oct. 9 that
allows everyone to have the same privileges as subscribers for that time period. The goal
is to attract more people to enter their 1881 census ancestors, thus allowing the rest of
us to potentially find more lost cousins. I have been a fan since I discovered this site,
and connected with a fifth cousin who had detailed information about the other side of my
great-grandfather's family. You can reach Lost Cousins at
http://www.lostcousins.com.
