My father was John Edward Cairns born in Motherwell 1931 to Susan (McKee) & Hugh Cairns. One of my uncles; Thomas Cairns, still lives in Motherwell. I was just trying to find out any family history, since both my parents have passed away.
Thanks

i am interested in connecting with anyone who has information about the cairns family who lived in the fintry, balfron, renfrew, gourock, greenock area of scotland.
my grandfather, william cairns, was born in balfron, scotland in 1868. he was married to mary campbell from coalisland, tyrone, ireland. his father was peter cairns born 1832 and married to isabella shearer born 1831. i believe peter cairns' father was john cairns married possibly to margaret young.
any leads appreciated.
