The Manx parish registers have survived well, unlike Ireland where most Cain/Caine folks
originate. A search go the IGI on-line at
familysearch.org would be a good start point.
The "e" on the end of Caine is of fairly recent origin, when it was the fashion
to make one's surname look more "ye olde Englische" (even if it was a Manx
name of Irish Gaelic entomology born by Viking descendants!). Thus you probably need to
keep an open mind on surname spelling and consider entries under "Cain" as well
as "Caine".
