My gt grandfather is listed as William Jonathon Cain on his death info in Northern
CA(Merced County) but I found him as possibly listed on the 1880 Gwinnett GA census as
Jonathon WM Cain when he was 14. He was living by my Gt Grandmother who was also listed as
14 and all of her father's family and inlaws. It's too much of a coincidence to be
someone else other than my gt grandfather. It lists his parents as Cicero Cain and Mary E
Wheeler Cain. This is where I hit a brick wall. I need to 100% verify this name variation
is him. I know that people married their neighbors in the 1800's. I have Cicero's
family info but lack anything concrete to link my gt grandfather to him. Please look over
my info: Wm Jonathon Cain b- 1866 Gwinnett GA d- 1935-37 in Merced County CA, may be
listed as Jonathon WM Cain on GA records. He m- Vina Rose(Viney) Sizemore also b- 1866
Gwinett GA d- 1925 San bernidino county CA. Their children were Worley Cain , Oley Cain ,
Claude Cain(Claudy) b- Maude(Ma!
udy) Cain, Tatum Cain, Millard Harvey, and my grandfather Grady Cain who is listed as Henry
WM Cain on his death info but Grady Cain on the 1900 census for Alabama. Their kids were
born in GA or AL. The Cains and Sizemores were from Gwinnett GA for many generations.
Please email me if you know of this family or are from any of the siblings listed. My
mother would love to hear from anyone that is related to her father Grady(Henry) Cain
because she is the only living person in her family now. The Cain family moved to
California in the early 1900-1920's and some settled in Napa Valley area and some in
Southern CA area. My grandfather lived in San Bernidino County for sometime before moving
to the Central Valley of CA. He is buried in Porterville, CA Cemetery.
