I have the information that you posted, and I do not believe that it is the same Cain
line. My "John Cain" ancestor was born in 1834 in GA, and married Sarah C
Brownlee, sister of Thursey Brownlee, both were daughters of Vincin Brownlee. I have this
well-documented, including the marriage license of John S Cain and Sarah C Brownlee on 15
Jan 1854, and the marriage license of John Cain to Thursey Brownlee on 11 Jul 1852.
Sarh was born 17 Aug 1835 in GA, and died 28 Aug 1908. She is buried at Friendship
Primitive Baptist Church in Snellville. Her headstone shows this also.
In the 1870 census, John S Cain and Sarah were living next door to John Cain (b. 1814) and
Thursey Ann Brownlee in the Stone Mountain post office district.
In the 1880 census, Sarah's son, Solomon was living next to his grandfather, Vincin
Brownlee.
In the 1900 census, Sarah was living with her son, Solomon.
I have a lot more than I have here well-documented, and have been running down some of the
other lines of the Cains to verify that they are different. I have not found any
documentation linking either John Cain that married the Brownlee girls to John Manning
Cain. I see a lot of people make that assumption, but I have not seen documentation of a
connection.
If you have any information documenting John Cain born 1814 showing him as the son of John
Manning Cain, I would be interested in it, especially as John S Cain is not mentioned as
John Manning Cain's child (and would be surprised if he named 2 sons John), and no
records either of John S Cain being the son of John Cain (b. 1814).
