Hello Bonnie, The information that was given to us more than 20 years ago and was
published in the 2nd Nicholas Cain book lists Hack's parents as James Cain of Holmes
County, Ohio. This research was done by a lady who passed away many years ago. Ken
stated in one of the messages on here that this is wrong, so I would like to get this
straightened out so that a much more accurate family tree can be left to future
generations. I have worked on the Nicholas Cain family for over 45 years and I'd like
to leave something behind that future generations will be proud of. I started the Cain
DNA Project in 2004 in hopes of sorting the many lines of Cains out. The internet has
really done an injustice to genealogical research. People get on here and copy
"everything" and anything and then pass it on as fact. Having access to all the
information is wonderful, don't get me wrong. But you still have research the facts
and make sure they belong to your family. I have traveled all!
over the US, England, Isle of Man and Ireland in search of records on the Nicholas Cain
line. It's very frustrating to see people post MISinformation and won't consider
checking to see if it's correct or not. (Sorry.... off my soap box.) If Hack's
parents are not of the James Cain of Holmes County, Ohio please let me know. I'd like
to correct it. Shirley
