Regarding your message below - I have a Patrick Cain, born abt.1760 - 1765,
also from what may be the same area of Ireland. It has been said that he
may have come up from Ireland through the Carolinas with his brothers to
Kentucky, but have not been able to find any proof. I have also seen what
may be a young Patrick as an indentured in Philadelphia, with possible time
in Maryland as his wife was from Maryland. I know for certain he ended up in
Grayson Co Kentucky by sometime before 1810, possibly as early as 1790, and
was definitely born in Ireland, DNA has established that.
Have you ever done DNA testing? We have a group of Cains that have
established the connection to County Galway Ireland, and are searching for
the year they came to the U.S. I believe it was between 1775-1795, based
upon possible timing of various times I have found Patrick in the U.S. If
you would consider the DNA testing, we may be able to connect our lines, or
you may find a totally different line in Ireland. All you need is a male
Cain descendent. The funds may be available for help with the cost.

William T. Cain b.1765 is who I'm looking for as well. We are from his son
Abel b.1798, and from his son, Isaac b.1839. Did you ever find out anything
on William? I would like to know when he came to America, and who his wife
was as well. Happy to share what I have.
E. Cain
