I also received the letter promoting the sex web site. Actually I received
two different forms, both from the same promoter - one came through another
list I subscribe to. I forwarded both to abuse(a)rootsweb.com
Following is the response I received:

Hi --
Thanks for the report. I spent most of last night dealing with this
spam.
It was very difficult to filter this out, because the spammers keep
changing the text of their junk mail. Eventually, at 4:00am, I was
able to identify the network just upstream from them, UUNET, and spoke
with a tech there who was able to get in touch with their immediate
network providers,
Bellsouth.net.
It doesn't appear that
Bellsouth.net has done anything about this yet,
so I'll keep working on it. In the meantime, I think I've jury-rigged
filters that will keep most of this stuff off the lists. I hope.
