Hello Cain Folks,
Glad to be here. I don't know that much about my Cain ancestors, which have
been found mainly in the Dale/Coffee/Barbour Counties area of S.E. Alabama.
Earliest confirmed is John Cain (another one!), supposedly born in NC.
Here's the family as I have them.
John Cain b. 4 Sep 1814 NC, d. 5 Apr 1893 Dale Co., Al.
Married Phariba Strickland, both buried Asbury Cemetery, Dale County, Al.
Children:
James B. Cain, b. 1838 d. 1916
Hardy Cain b. 1840
Nancy Cain b. 1841
Jenett Cain b. 5 Nov 1841, d. 4 May 1915
John W. Cain, b. 1843, d. 1864
Franka Cain, b. 1845,
William H. Cain. b. 1848
Harriet Angelina Cain, b. 18 Dec 1849, d. 16 July 1918,
m. Samuel Anderson Reeves
Charity Cain, b. 1850
Charles H. Cain, b. 1850
Nester Ann Cain, b. 4 Dec. 1854, d. 12 Jul 1901
Daniel Shorter Cain, b. 10 Aug 1856, d. 18 July 1934
Emily A. Cain, b. 1858
Jackson Cain, b. 1868
Does this man ring a bell with anyone? I've honestly not worked on my Cain
lines that much, but the few times I did, I was unable to find a John Cain in
NC that I could positively connect to my lines.
Thanks,
Mike Childree
