Would like to see if I can go back any farther.
I have a JOHN CAIN who came with his wife SALLY (Dutch descended) from
Ireland and landed in North Carolina in 1700. They came to America with two
of JOHN's brothers. One went to Illinois, one to Kentucky and JOHN went to
Georgia.
JOHN and SALLY had at least three sons: JOHN, JOE and ROBERT CRAVEN CAIN
from whom I'm descended. ROBERT CRAVEN was born in 1800 in South Carolina.
He married Winifred C. Bates January 5, 1826 in Hall County Georgia.
I have copies of a 1919 obituary that detailed the line up to this point. I
also have voting records and copies of original election results for Texas
Congressmen ANDREW SMITH CAIN and ROBERT ALEXANDER CAIN.

Mark,
Did you run across a PATRICK CAIN as a relative in your search of JOHN CAIN
who came to NC in 1700 ?? I have a PATRICK CAIN who was b. abt 1715 who had
a son, JOHN. I think he lived somewhere in NC in Colonial days. Patrick was a
land surveyor by trade and moved about quite a lot. Have you ever heard of a
PATRICK CAIN who lived in NC before the Revolution??
Please say you have and you just may have lightened my burden somewhat.
Thanks,
Frank R. Trowbridge
