Kathryn Cain
Kathryn Cain, 76, Geneva, died at 12:24 p.m. Saturday in Jay County Hospital, Portland.
She was born on December 19, 1917 in Chattanooga, Ohio to Charles W. and Alpha Booher Chew
and married Herbert Cain on November 7, 1937. He died on April 19, 1993.
She was a homemaker and a member of Sardinia Congregational Christian Church in Bryant and
Decatur Lodge 127 of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are two sons, Michael and John Cain, both of Portland; two daughters, Mrs.
Pearly (Ruth Ann) Cunningham, Pittsburgh; and Mrs. Dan (Patricia) Haffner, Troy, Michigan;
two sisters, Mrs. Paul (Ruby) Haskett, Orlando, Florida, and Mrs. Richard (Bernice) Juday,
Tucson, Arizona; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. A son, Richard Cain and a
brother are deceased.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Downing Funeral Home, Geneva, with burial
in West Lawn Cemetery, Geneva. Visiting hours are today until 5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., and
after 10 a.m. Tuesday. There will be an Order of the Eastern Star service at 8:30 p.m.
today. Preferred memorials are to the church.
