Eva Guidry Cain
Funeral service will be on Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009, at 1 p.m. in La Chapelle de Martin
& Castille in Lafayette, for Eva Guidry Cain, 89, who passed away peacefully on
Monday, Aug. 10, 2009, at Ollie Steele Burden Manor in Baton Rouge. Interment will be in
Indian Bayou Methodist Cemetery in Indian Bayou. Rev. Ira M. Robinson of Asbury United
Methodist Church will conduct the funeral service. Jodi Bollich, organist and soloist,
will sing "Amazing Grace," "In The Garden" and "Ave Maria"
for the service. Survivors include one daughter, Sandra Decuir and her husband Kenneth, of
New Iberia; two sons, Taylor Cain and his wife Lessley, of Lake Charles, and Craig Cain
and his wife, Kay, of Zachary; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and sister,
Rose Richard of Crowley. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Norris Cain;
parents, Eugene and Marie Fruge Guidry; four sisters; and two brothers. A native of Church
Point and a resident of Lafayette since 1963, Eva Cain!
was a member of Asbury Methodist Church in Lafayette, a member of the American Legion
Auxiliary and worked with her late husband, Norris Cain, at Lafayette National Brand
Stores. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and caring for her children and
grandchildren. She was particularly fond of dancing and music, having played the violin as
a child. Eva Cain will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Pallbearers will be
family and friends of Mrs. Eva Cain. The family requests that visitation be observed on
Wednesday, Aug. 12, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of
