I found this post on ancestry, would love to correspond with either the
sender Sandy or recipient Don regarding the Cains in Nelson Co KY who
married Browns women. It is a little bit old but hoping one of you are on
the lists.
Don, I noticed you are researching the Cains/Canes from Nelson County,
Kentucky. I don't know much about the Cains except they must have been among
the earliest settlers in Nelson County. Several Cains Married into the Brown
family of Prince George County, Maryland, esp. Thomas Browns' (1765-1830),
Descendents, mostly Brown daughters Married Cains in Nelson County. This
Brown family was Catholic, the Cains must have been too, as there were so
many Marriages between the families. I think Cains Run was/is on Coxs Creek
and the area is near Deatsville or Samuels,Ky. This area is in Northwest
Nelson County, a few miles from Bardstown. I am a Wilmoth/Wilmoth/Brown
descendent. My branch of the Wilmouth/Browns to this day live in the same
area. Warren ilmouth/Wilmoth bought 92 1/2 acres of property on Cain/Cane
Run of Coxs' Creek from a Henry CristChrist of Bullitt County, Kentucky. The
Catholic Church in this area is St. Gregorys, perhaps they have some of your
family records. My direct Ancestor GGGGrandfather Samuell "Nelson" Wilmouth
moved to Edgar Co., IL.
