Guthrie E. Cain, 45, of 328-B Lebo Blvd., Bremerton, WA, a shipfitter at Puget Sound Naval
Shipyard, died Thursday at Harrison Memorial Hospital. He was born April 12, 1941 in
Evansville, Ind. Mr. Cain was raised in Indiana and served in Vietnam with the U.S. Navy
on the USS Haverfield and the USS Porterfield. He came to Bremerton in 1969 and was
employed as a shipfitter at PSNS.
Mr. Cain enjoyed reading and working in his garden. He had been a member of the Washington
National Guard for many years. Survivors include a daughter, Chimene L. Cain, and his
fiance, Arlene Ross, both of Bremerton. Visitation will be Monday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at
the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be made to the Heart Fund.
