He ended up in Polk Co., TX but his family came from Ala/GA/SC areas. I'm assume they
migrated, as such. His wife, Mary, shows she was born in LA. She and he had the same age
37 in the 1870 census. She is in San Jacinto, living next to her daughter, age 47, in the
1880 census. Cousins say he went on to Colo to find gold??? His name, as best as I can
piece together but have no real proof, is John Nathaniel (he shows Nathaniel in the 1870
census in Polk Co; a John, same age, shows up with a lot of other cains in Polk Co in
1860). A cousin posted on Ancestry World Connect that John Nathaniel (he was born about
1834) married Mary Pink Fitzgerald. I have not been able to prove that or contact that
cousin. He also posted that Nathaniel's mother was Mary Elizabeth, b Ala, full blood
choctaw. It will give you something to check. If I find out more proof on any of it,
I'll pass that on to you.
