If they were part of the Dawes Rolls you will be able to get information their Indian
heritage, designated lands etc. This should help close the gaps.

I have a cain connection that is supposed to be Indian also. Mine came from
Nathaniel Cain whose mother is supposed to be full blood Choctaw. I think my
grandmother, his daughter, passed on Indian Land to her son, my grandfather, but
I have not been able to find any record that connects so far. Would love to
discuss some time. There might be a relationship between John Nathaniel and
your Nancy -- brother, sister, cousins, or whatever. Nathaniel ended up in Polk
County.
