I am passing on this message sent to the MSWILKIN list by listowner Virginia
Ewing. FYI
------------------------------------------------------------
You know how I feel about sending virus warning to my list. Most of them are
hoax anyway. This is not a virus, it's a worm, and it is real and spreading
fast. My information came for the mailing list set up just for listowners,
and I have seen other listowners passing the message along to their
subscribers. I didn't want to leave you in the dark.
This worm is hidden in an 'HAPPY99.EXE' email with an attachment. The
attachment opens to a fireworks display. As you watch the display the worm is
loaded into your hard drive. The worm then feeds back information from your
computer to some unknown [to me] site.
It is becoming a very real problem but can be easily For a full explanation
and solution, go to the following websites:

Check to see if your computer has been infected:
http://housecall.antivirus.com/explorer.html for internet explorer
http://housecall.antivirus.com/netscape.html for netscape.
I will ask that you not forward this message to other lists as we do not want
to over burden Rootsweb's servers, but listowners might want to advise their
list.
You will not receive this worm through Rootsweb's messages. It will come only
as a private e-mail from a friend. Don't we all like to share these cute
animated displays?
Even if you have not received a HAPPY99 message it would still be a good idea
to visit the sites listed above to learn more about worms and Trojan horse.
Some of them can steal your password.
