Hello to Cain researchers and particularly those who were requesting
information on Patrick Cain,
I still have not received my box of microprint copies from the South Carolina
Archives (I called yesterday and they are still working on them and I should
expect them in a few days), but following is a bit of information you might be
interested in. These are for state of SC land grants after the Rev. War. The
key is: Last name, first name, county/district, year, number of acres, volume,
page number, dated entered. There could be some errors as I was reading
handwritten documents and they did some peculiar things - some sort of
shorthand or flourish, but maybe the information will help someone.
As soon as I get my box of transcribed wills, I will begin posting. I also
have a lot more information and will post it as I can.
