Harold (Harry) R. Cain Jr. of Sweet Valley passed away peacefully surrounded by his family
on Wednesday, May 19, 2010, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.
He was born Dec. 3, 1957, in Nanticoke and was the son of Harold R. Cain, Nanticoke, and
the late Dorothy Kwiatkowski Cain.
Harold attended Nanticoke area schools and worked for the past 35 years for several
asphalt companies in the area: Evans Asphalt, Slusser Brothers, Pike Creek Site Contractor
and American Asphalt.
Harold was an avid fisherman and loved spending time at Storey Lake, Meshoppen, with his
son, Christopher, and best friend, Bill Klein. Harold was also very proud of his son
Harold's accomplishments as an area police officer, serving Lehman, Jackson and Lake
townships and the Harveys Lake area.
Surviving are his wife, the former Cynthia Pall, Sweet Valley; sons, Christopher, Sweet
Valley; Harold and his wife, Erin, Larksville; sisters, Carol Green, Nanticoke; Margaret
Humphreys and her husband, William, Loyalville; nephew, William Humphreys and his wife,
Cara, Hunlock Creek; niece, Kelly Ann Brown and her husband, Mark, Nanticoke; and
great-niece, Taylor Brown.
The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the entire staff at
Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center over the past few months and to all the fifth
floor nurses who were very compassionate. God bless all of you.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday from Earl W. Lohman Funeral Home Inc.,
14 W. Green St., Nanticoke. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Henry Cancer Center, 1000
E. Mountain Blvd., Wilkes Barre, PA 18711, in memory of Harold.
