Cain was a pretty common name in Ireland and you are going to find a LOT of Cains in the
colonies and Revolution. My Cain family was here prior to the Revolution and lived in the
MD/NJ/PA area. The borders kept changing and so even though they were in the same place,
the colony or state changed from time to time. Also know the spelling of Cain could
change from year to year. I have Keane, O'Keane, Cain, O'Cain, etc. I don't
think your question is answerable.
